What we know and what we do not
We have not recorded boiling water tap prices through a Black Friday before, so we cannot tell you which brand discounts by how much, or which week a price drops. Any page that promises percentages in advance is guessing. What we do have is the RRP of every model, the specification behind it and, for the taps sold on Amazon UK, a button that opens the retailer's own page. On the day, the retailer's page is the only live source for the price.
Of the 32 taps in the table, 8 have an Amazon UK offer in our data. None of them carries a dated shop price today, which is why the table shows the RRP and not a shop price. The other taps are sold by the brand or by installers and kitchen showrooms, and we have no price feed for those.
Quooker sells direct and is not on Amazon UK. If you are comparing a Quooker with the taps that are, start with our Quooker alternatives comparison, and read the Quooker tap prices guide for the RRP of every Quooker model.
When the dates fall
Black Friday is the Friday after US Thanksgiving, which makes it 27 November this year. Cyber Monday follows on 30 November. UK retailers often open their offers several days before the Friday, and some keep them running through the first week of December. For a tap that costs several hundred pounds, that gives you time to compare, so there is no reason to buy on the first price you see.
How to tell a real discount from a marked-up price
Start with the RRP. Every row in the table shows the manufacturer's recommended price, and a real discount is a price below what the same tap normally sells for. A crossed-out "was" price that sits above the RRP tells you nothing, because the tap may never have sold at that price.
Next, write down the price you see for the taps you are considering a week before, ideally before 20 November. That is your own baseline, and it takes five minutes. If the Black Friday price matches it, you have found a tap that costs the same as always. If it is lower, you have found a discount.
Finally, compare like with like. A 3-in-1 and a 4-in-1 differ in what comes out of the spout, and a bundle with a filter or a different finish is a different product. Check the tank size, the maximum temperature and whether the filter is included, then use the spec table to see the models side by side. The running cost calculator shows what each one costs to keep hot after you have bought it, and the guide to whether boiling water taps are worth it covers the decision itself.
What to check before you order
Installation is extra on every tap here. Our installation cost estimator puts a simple swap at around £130 to £200 in most of the UK. Check the delivery date and the returns policy too, since a tap that arrives after your installer has gone is a cost of its own. Where a retailer offers a longer warranty on Black Friday stock, read what it covers.
