Traditional swan-neck 4-in-1: filtered steaming hot plus filtered cold drinking
The Pronteau Province 4-in-1 is Abode's traditional swan-neck steaming-hot tap. It dispenses filtered 98°C steaming-hot water, standard hot and cold, and a separate filtered cold drinking channel, from a 4L PROBOIL.4E boiler. UK-designed and supported, with a 5-micron carbon-block filter changed roughly every 6 months. Warranty: 5 years tap, 2 years boiler.

Our take
The Pronteau range is Abode's answer to the boiling tap, and Abode is one of the few UK names in this category that designs and supports its taps in Britain rather than rebadging an import. The Province is the traditional-styled 4-in-1: a swan-neck tap that gives you filtered steaming-hot water on a child-safe handle, standard hot and cold on the mixer, and a separate filtered cold drinking channel, so it replaces both the kettle and an under-sink filter tap. The 4L PROBOIL.4E boiler sits underneath.
What stands out is the warranty and the UK support. Five years on the tap is one of the longer terms here, Abode is based in Barnsley and has been going since 2002, and genuine filters and descale packs are easy to get. At £1,249 the Province usually undercuts a Quooker set up to do the same filtered-cold job with a CUBE module.
The honest caveats are temperature, the boiler term, and upkeep. The outlet is steaming hot at 98°C rather than a true 100°C, so it falls just short of a rolling boil for sterilising or pasta. The headline five-year warranty covers the tap, but the boiler, the part most likely to fail, is covered for two. And the filter needs changing roughly every six months with an annual descale. Abode does not publish a standby wattage, only an energy figure of 0.8 kWh over a typical 24 hours, which makes a precise running-cost comparison harder. Buy the Province for the genuine filtered 4-in-1, the long tap warranty and the UK support, and budget for the filters.
Running cost
Headline price is half the story. The Abode Pronteau Province 4-in-1 reheats whenever the tank cools, and standby power adds up over a decade. Use the calculator with your own electricity tariff and household usage to see the 10-year total.
