Our take

The Quooker Fusion Round reviewed

The Fusion Round is what most British buyers picture when they imagine a "boiling tap", and at £1,295 it sits at the price point where Quooker's reputation has to earn its keep. The selling pitch is straightforward: a true 100°C boil from a 3L PRO3 tank that reheats in around ten minutes, served through a clean round-spout silhouette that suits almost any kitchen style.

What stands out is the actual temperature. Most rivals dispense at 98°C and Quooker is one of the few brands that genuinely hits a rolling boil, which matters for pasta, sterilising baby bottles, and proper green-leaf tea. Combine that with high-vacuum tank insulation that Quooker rates at around 10W idle, and the per-cup energy cost is closer to a third of a penny than the half-penny figure rivals quote. Running cost is roughly £68 a year according to Which? testing.

The compromise is the tap itself rather than the tank. The Fusion Round is a 3-in-1, so you are paying premium money for boiling and standard hot and cold, but you do not get filtered or chilled drinking water without bolting on the separate Quooker CUBE accessory, which adds several hundred pounds. If you genuinely want a filtered drinking flow as part of the same tap, Franke's Omni or a Qettle 4-in-1 give you that out of the box at a lower starting price. Buy the Fusion Round because of the temperature and the build, not because it does the most.
