Qettle Original 4-in-1

Half the Quooker price, same boiling point

What we like

  • £499 RRP roughly a third of equivalent Quooker pricing
  • 4L tank delivers around 12 mugs back-to-back
  • Filtered cold and 100°C boiling from a single spout
  • Trustpilot praises Qettle support beyond warranty period

Watch out for

  • Standard warranty just 2 years on boiler and cartridge
  • Trustpilot reports boiler leaks at 2.5-3 year mark
  • Annual descale required, more maintenance than Quooker
  • Service network thinner than established brands

Our take

The Qettle Original 4-in-1 reviewed

The Qettle Original is the tap that breaks the assumption that boiling water has to mean Quooker money. At £499 for a 4-in-1 with filtered drinking, boiling, and standard hot and cold, it is the obvious value pick in the category and the brand is a genuinely British operation rather than a rebadged import.

Where Qettle earns its position is the honest spec for the price. The water is a true 100°C boil, the filter sits inside the system with a status light on the tap base that tells you when it needs changing or detects a leak, and the boiler tank gets a yearly clean that you can do yourself rather than paying an engineer. Trustpilot reviews land consistently around the four-and-a-half-star mark, with the most repeated comment being some variation of "costs less than a Quooker and does the same thing".

The compromise is the company size, not the product. Qettle does not have Quooker's UK service network, so if a unit fails out of warranty you are dealing with returns rather than a same-week home visit. Filter cartridges every six months and the annual deep-clean are also a more involved maintenance pattern than the fit-and-forget Quooker tank. Annual running cost lands around £113 per Which? data, which is about £45 more than a Quooker because the standby insulation is less efficient. If you can live with the maintenance rhythm, the £500 to £800 you save over a Quooker Fusion Round is real money that buys other things for the kitchen.
