Our take
The Hanstrom Square 4-in-1 is the most aggressive price challenger in this lineup. At £499 you get boiling, filtered, hot and cold from a square-spout tap with a touch-screen control panel offering five preset temperatures. Hanstrom is a UK direct-to-consumer brand built around undercutting the established players, and the Square positions itself directly against the Fohen Furnas in the entry tier.
Function per pound is where it scores. £499 for a 4-in-1 with filtration included is sharp pricing, and the touch-screen interface with adjustable temperatures is a feature Quooker and Qettle do not offer at any price point. For a buyer who wants warm water for baby bottles at 70°C or specific tea temperatures, the preset control is actually useful rather than a gimmick. The square styling reads as more contemporary than Fohen's swan-neck and suits handleless kitchens.
The trade-offs are predictable for the price. The 98°C dispense is not a true boil, the 2-year warranty is short by category standards, and Hanstrom's brand maturity and service network are nowhere near Quooker, Qettle or Insinkerator. Touch-screen panels also introduce an extra failure mode that mechanical levers do not have, and replacement of a proprietary control unit out of warranty could be expensive. If budget is the hard constraint and the temperature presets matter to you, it earns its place on the shortlist.

Running cost
Headline price is half the story. The Hanstrom 4-in-1 Square draws around 12 W at idle and reheats whenever the tank cools. Use the calculator with your own electricity tariff and household usage to see the 10-year total.
