What to know about London water and installers

Roughly three quarters of London tap water comes from the chalky aquifers of the Chilterns and the river Thames, leaving it heavily mineralised at around 300 to 360 mg/l calcium carbonate. Without an in-line filter or a softened feed, kettles, coffee machines and boiling water taps will scale within months.
